Ira, I have heard you just "go into the light".

There is nothing to fear...all pain,fear,grief, worry,etc will be removed. The spirit held within our body is released and returns to the great universal energy.

Ahhhh....Tony Cartmill...the voice of reason here at EC.com!! I often wonder just how lost we would be without you.

It's so sad when our aging loved ones who took care of us when we were little become fragile. It's sad and scary, because no matter what age we are, we still feel like they are the ones who take care of us. Also, we love them so much it's tough. Hang in there, Ira, and make the most of every moment you have left to share with him.
