On February 27, 1973, Eric Carmen, Wally Bryson, Jim Bonfanti and Dave Smalley arrived at NBC Studios in Burbank, California to tape a segment for Burt Sugarman's weekly late night music review, The Midnight Special.

Playing "I Wanna Be With You" and "Let's Pretend" from their new LP Fresh, Raspberries put on a flawless live performance. One of the great things about both NBC's The Midnight Special and ABC's Don Kirshner's Rock Concert is that both programs featured artists playing live rather than the standard lip-sync performances that were most often seen on just about every other television program of the day.

The band was introduced by singer Johnn Nash, who had just hit the top of the pop charts with his single, "I Can See Clearly Now." This rare Raspberries live television performance has not been seen since it originally aired in 1973!
