Everyone at General Motors obsesses about quality these days—even the robots in the assembly plants. During the CBS telecast of Super Bowl XLI on Feb. 4, 2007, GM launched a new 60-second TV spot, called "Robot" that uses Eric's version of his biggest hit, "All By Myself."
The Super Bowl is the most-viewed program on US television. The estimated number of people that heard Eric sing "All By Myself" on the Super Bowl telecast is 90 million! And that's just in the U.S. alone—imagine how many more were watching worldwide!
The GM commercial came in 18th place out of a field of 57 commercials on the USAToday Super Bowl Ad Meter and The New York Times picked the GM spot with "All By Myself: as the best commercial of the Super Bowl!
